Regional Manager - West London & Central

To support the Surveying Director in constantly improving the claims experience by managing a surveying team in the provision of technical audits and risk management processes. Monitor these processes and develop staff through a framework of auditable reports to maximise customer satisfaction and secure repeat business.


Role Responsibilities


Duties of the post include, but are not limited to:


  • Manage a remote team of Surveyors in the application of the company’s risk management process, ensuring that individuals are given clear guidance and goals, that they understand what is required of them and that they understand the mechanism for monitoring and performance
  • Manage Surveyor’s performance using data reports to analyse and monitor KPI’s, SRA’s, SIR’s, CoA’s/cover notes, Developer Assessments, Conditions As well as continually driving motivation and engagement and encouraging discretionary effort.
  • Carry out Surveyor Quality Reviews (SQR’s) on Surveyors, recognising achievement and identifying development areas, formulating and delivering training
  • Promote the 5 key areas of Risk management through the application and understanding of the operations manual, policies and processes and encourage adherence to best practice:
  1. Technical Inspection Regime:
    • Enhanced risk and reporting
    • Surveyor Review’s (all roles within each team)
    • KPI performance (customer service and risk management)
    • Completion and ongoing management of SRA’s
  1. Workload Management:
    • Workload balance (active sites and difficulty factor)
    • Workload levels (Graduates, Deputy Managers, and Surveyors )
  1. Productivity and Efficiencies:
    • Number of TA’s, CC’s, Conditions added/closed.
    • Time on site
    • Travel time
  1. Customer Satisfaction:
    • Repeat business
    • Level of complaints
    • Follow up on feedback
  1. Staff Management:
    • Staff retention
    • Competency and training (including new starter feedback, induction and mentoring)
    • Regular contact with remote staff
    • Creating well managed, engaged and well motivated team
  • Support the Regional Director and the Business Development / Sales teams. Assessing potential new business opportunities and undertake joint & individual meetings with existing clients, potential customers and heads of BC to promote business
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably


Experience and Skills


  • Full member of professional organisations with minimum grades accepted: MRICS / MCIOB / MCABE or MICWCI with movement to MCABE within probation period.
  • Relevant BC experience, plan check, site inspection and relevant warranty, quality or defect resolution Extensive experience of differing construction methods, as well as experience of defect resolution issues. The candidate must have experience and understanding of high risk areas of construction, such as flat roofs, basements, cladding systems, etc.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of the Building Regulations and associated  legislation (where appropriate and necessary).
  • Requires a good understanding of general insurance principals and
  • A demonstrable understanding of latent defect risk management and the methods for mitigating claims
  • Ability to undertake site inspections to assess both quality and the cause/effect of building
  • Management skills and experience of managing remote
  • Commercial awareness and ability to work as part of a
  • Ability to create not only good working relationships with other construction professionals but to be able to deal effectively with members of the
  • The ability to meet deadlines and manage own workload within agreed
  • Demonstrable ability to use own
  • Ability to motivate self and influence
  • Excellent Customer Services skills and experience of Relationship In depth working knowledge of MS Outlook (email), MS Word, MS Excel and ability to use company intranet system (including all bespoke packages).
  • Full Driving Licence for use in the
  • Ability to fulfil the mobility requirements of the RMS role, including (but not limited to) the ability to;
    • move around a site
    • climb ladders
    • work at height
    • drive reasonable distances
  • Proficient in English communications (written and oral).
