Senior Business Analyst

To work effectively with senior business and IT stakeholders, conducting investigations at a strategic level and assuring the feasibility of proposed solutions and be advising senior stakeholders on business change priorities within the context of the company strategy and objectives.

You will support business case development through the identification and definition of business and technical options that will address the business objectives and requirements, and the analysis of the costs, benefits, risks and impacts for each option.

You will work to investigate business problems and opportunities, and specify required changes to business processes and systems.

You will apply the use of modelling and analysis techniques and tools in an informed and proficient way.

 

Overview of Responsibilities

  • The ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business operation
  • Identify improvement opportunities and innovative ways to increase customer satisfaction
  • Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others; identifying and initiating projects; driving the resolution of issues; and being accountable for results
  • Establishing relationships, contributing to an open culture and maintaining contacts with people from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. Effective, approachable and sensitive communicator. Adapting communication style and approach to meet the needs of different audiences.
  • Managing stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines; adapting stakeholder engagement style to meet the needs of different audiences.
  • Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders
  • Preparing and presenting business cases both verbally and in writing.
  • Partnering with internal and external customers to ensure systems provided and courses of action meet the long-term business strategies
  • Assist with the design of new products
  • Integrating new systems and processes with existing ones
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Proficient in applying techniques which help when investigating, analysing, or modelling a business area or system of interest
  • Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level.
  • Proficient in applying standards, practices, and legislation relevant to MD Group
  • Good focus on quality improvement and data management; ensuring data is reliable and valid; developing process improvements or re-engineering and recommending elimination
  • Act as a liaison between business and IT groups
  • Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements and provide necessary guidance to testing during the QA process
  • Meet with the project team regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines
  • Ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones
  • Create and maintain issue logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules, project summaries and updates.

 

Experience / Skills

  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst
  • Certifications in Business Analyst related disciplines.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical and detailed mind
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Strong motivational skills to maintain progress of projects
  • Proficient application of business analysis techniques and tools
  • Ability to assess and evaluate the latest trends in the insurance and IT industries for recommending solutions for business system opportunities.

 

Other desired Skills

  • Knowledge of the insurance market.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of industry recognised software development methodologies.
  • Knowledge and use of a Software prototyping package (e.g. Balsamiq)
  • Knowledge of SQL and database structure
