2015 Excellence Awards Final
The Battle has been won!
The 2015 Excellence Awards finalists fought for their accolades on Thursday 12th November, guests arrived and were ushered through to the event to the sound of military command from of our 2 playful guards. Upon entering the ‘bunker’ they were served cocktails in ceramic mugs and greeted by a whole host of wonderful canapés, designed to be in-keeping with theme. Reception drinks were accompanied by Natty and the Flaming Rhythms, playing acoustic jazz music whilst roaming through the crowds.
The festivities commenced to the sound of ‘Bugle Boy’ by the Andrew’s sisters and the guests were ushered to their seats in readiness for the event. The lights switched off and as the darkness covered the room, an air raid siren sounded and the room was brought to silence in preparation for the introduction. Once the first course, which cleverly emulated civilian rations but with a 21st century twist were polished off, our host Robert Bathurst took to the stage and proceeded to fill the room with laughter, through a series of anecdotes and witty one-liners.
The first set of awards followed on from this and gave winning titles to our Single Unit Development of the Year (Under £2m) [Colin Devine], Single Unit Development of the Year (Over £2m) [Colmar Construction (Poole) Ltd], Small Development of the Year [Goulden Simpson Ltd], Medium Development of the Year [Millwood Designer Homes] and Large Development of the Year [Wyatt Homes] categories. Our winners were blown away with their achievement and the celebrations were soon in full swing.
Main course was served in Battlefield ration boxes and was shortly followed by some fast-footed entertainment from London’s Swing Patrol. Once the adrenaline was pumping, our awards continued with the second set covering Social Housing Development of the Year [Gentoo Construction Ltd for Four Housing Ltd], Refurbishment/Conversion Project of the Year [Avant Homes (Yorkshire) Ltd], Commercial Development of the Year [Connor Developments], Apartment Scheme of the Year [Colmar Construction (Poole) Ltd] and Multi-storey Development of the Year [Berkeley Homes East Thames].
Following more entertainment from Robert Bathurst and a sharing celebration of street party mini desserts, the final awards set shone the spotlight on the Site Manager of the Year [Matt Ellis from Avant Homes (Yorkshire) Ltd], Project Manager of the Year [Nick Cuffe from Colmar Construction (Poole) Ltd], Judges Exemplary [The Berkeley Group] and Developer of the Year [Colmar Construction (Poole) Ltd] Awards.
With the awards winding down to a close and guests commented on how much fun they had and how unique the Premier Guarantee Excellence Awards are. The atmosphere in the room was spectacular, combining WWII themed props including sandbags, food crates, bunting, a vegetable patch and even a spitfire along with waiting staff and actors in fancy dress, live swing music and a distinct venue that all went hand in hand to throw everyone back in time to a post WWII street party.
A very different experience to that of the 2014 awards, what will next year bring?
At Premier Guarantee, we dare to do things differently

It was different, with added suspense in the build-up, excellently put together with a relevant theme that was the done justice by the costumed staff, drinks, food, props, decorations, films, audio etc. The venue was also great, as was the timing being early lunchtime midweek.
