What is a New Construction Warranty?

Our New Construction Warranty (also referred as Latent Defects Insurance) has been developed for Contractors or Developers working on newly built residential, commercial or mixed use developments. It protects homeowners/tenants against Structural Defects in the new property in the first 10 years from completion.

Summary of cover:

  • COVER PERIOD:

    10 years - Full protection against losses caused by defects in the design and/or materials and/or workmanship of a property which results in major damage to the structural elements.

  • Risk Transfer

    full risk transfer policy from year one of cover - even if the contractor ceases trading or enters into administration

  • COVER INCLUDES:

    Cover as standard for additional costs of removal of debris, professional fees and protection for underground drainage.

  • Additional Cover

    Cover available for waterproofing of roofs, waterproofing of external walls, waterproofing for basements, alternative accommodation costs, loss of rental income and waiver of subrogation rights.

CONSTRUCTION

Your Risk Management Surveyor will undertake onsite inspections in line with the construction of your development.

COMPLETION

On final inspection your Risk Management Surveyor will approve your project so you can receive your Certificate of Insurance.
