Course overview
This is a three-hour session online where we will cover:
- How to describe the difference between a traditional cut roof, truss roof and flat roof
- How to identify construction methods when inspecting each type of roof
- Look at good and bad practice within roof areas
This course focuses on common defects found in pitched roofs.
Your Premier Guarantee trainer will spend an hour on your site with you or your learners to discuss typical roofing types, typical roofing materials, and the main problem areas in roof construction.
This includes:
- Covering materials i.e. underlay and battens
- Fixing materials
- Fire stopping
- Flashing and weathering details
- Good practice in roof construction
Learn about common defects found on site when dealing with pitched roof construction and how to avoid the most common issues found by Premier Guarantee risk surveyors.
Learners will also be equipped with the common theory behind the standards in the Premier Guarantee Technical Manual, what our standards are, and why we ask for those standards to be met.
