Approved by the Construction Industry Council Approved Inspectors Register (CICAIR), our service has been structured to work cohesively with our structural warranties or solely on its own.

 

All our Surveyors are members of RICS, CABE or RIBA. We provide a national service with local expertise and will always be on hand to support and give you the advice to meet building regulations.  

 

In line with industry recommendations from the Hackitt report, we've created a service that will keep a ‘golden thread’ of information throughout the build promoting true transparency and accountability. At each key stage and sign off we provide instant electronic reports and feedback, recording an audit trail which will be given as proof on completion.

How our Building Control service works

1. Pre-application Consultation

Upfront we offer a pre-application consultation. You can talk to us about your project in advance before purchasing our warranty or building control product.

2. Application

Once an application is made we will let you know what additional information is required and any issues there may be with the design in a timely manner.

3. Plan Check

If you make an application and are imminently starting on site, we will accelerate the plan checking of your application.

4. Inspect

Once site works have started we work with you and inspect on a regular planned basis, so the certification and build process progress smoothly.

5. Approval

On passing your final inspections, your Certificate of Insurance and building control certificate will be released.

How much does Building Control cost?

Our building control costs are assessed on each project based on its size and purpose group. Its beneficial to send your drawings over to us pre-application so we can give free pre-application advice and quote for the building control work accordingly. We advise all our clients to work with us as early as possible during the design process. This will help you to make key decisions early on that can make the building safer, more efficient and even possibly cheaper. Our priority is to assist you with issues such as fire brigade access, fire and compartmentalisation, access for disabled people and energy efficiency, which are beneficial to review early in the design process to lower the risk of issues later on the build.
