Premier Guarantee strengthens its Insurer Panel with HSB partnership

In an industry which is facing increasing instability in relation to insurance backing and PI cover, and insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic, Premier Guarantee is delighted to welcome HSB to our insurer panel.

With an AM Best rating of A++ (Superior), HSB is a leading specialist provider of engineering and technology insurance.  Part of the global HSB Group, HSB specializes in construction and equipment breakdown covers in the UK, which includes experience in Latent Defects and Machinery Inherent Defects insurance.

Gary Devaney, Chairman and Chief Executive of Premier Guarantee, said:

“The industry needs good news at the moment and this partnership puts us in an excellent position to hit the road running as the construction market picks up after a very difficult few months for all. It enables us to extend the range of products and services we are able to offer in the warranty and building control markets via brokers and directly to clients and homeowners. We are also looking to bring some exciting new schemes to market.”

Stephen Worrall, Managing Director, HSB said: “We are delighted to be working with Premier Guarantee to provide latent defects and machinery inherent defects insurance to their customers.  By combining our specialist insurance knowledge and experience with Premier Guarantee’s expertise in the building control and warranty markets, we are building a strategic relationship focused on delivering customer-focused insurance solutions.”

A leading position for Premier Guarantee

This means Premier Guarantee continues to be in a leading position to move forward as a building control and warranty provider with the capacity and financial limits to cover a range of developments from low-rise housing to high-rise residential and commercial projects through our insurance panel.

The introduction of new products and investment in technology

We will now also be providing Machinery Inherent Defects Cover (for 5 years from completion) as standard, which protects any mechanical and electrical services equipment against the risk of equipment damage from an inherent fault.

Over the last few years we have invested heavily in new technology to provide the transparency and reporting required to support construction and have the flexibility to move quickly in response to changing industry needs.

Our involvement with the New Homes Review enables us to analyse feedback received directly from homeowners as well as build performance data collected on-site via handheld software and claims learning. Together, this enables us to review and continually develop our own technical standards and training programmes to best support the house building industry to monitor quality and raise standards by actively sharing this knowledge. Helping our clients to achieve their plans successfully and compliantly.

Through the Premier Guarantee Extranet, clients are able to print their own certification and we are now able to offer transparent and auditable services such as benchmark reporting on site performance – complete with defect trends analysis backed up by photographic evidence, self-service administration, improved response times and will shortly be rolling out a site quality recognition programme, so watch this space.

We have diversified our model to provide solutions for all types of build from affordable housing to private rental and high value single block developments and are able to provide standalone building control for the commercial market so there is a lot to look forward to in the coming months.
