Major Projects: An update to our cavity tray warranty guidance

Published date: 12 December 2022

Due to changing building regulations, we are updating our warranty guidance on the use of cavity trays on residential buildings above 18m.

What are the new requirements?

Further to government review and amendments on the requirements for cavity trays, we require the following for warranty acceptance:

  • For all projects commencing after 1st January 2023, we will require cavity trays on residential buildings above 18m to be non-combustible (performance requirement including A2-s1, d0 or A1 reaction to fire classification) and to have independent third-party product certification that has been assessed as being acceptable to us.

Cavity trays should be used in accordance with the product certification and the use of preformed corners must be incorporated.

You can learn about
third party product conformity requirements in this handy guide.
